Well, I have made it through finals without a hitch. Now that class is out time for family, fun and a bit of work. Took a little stroll after work one day in this field next to the river. Lighting … Continue reading
Welcome, My Week of Finals. Welcome

All about the poop
As many of you know, people get really mad when people don’t pick up their dog’s poop. This is completely understandable, it drives me crazy when people leave “the stuff” in parks and on trails ect. One thing that has me stumped is how this doesn’t translate to other animals in public parks and trails. I can’t even begin to tell how much horse crap I find of the trails. It’s crazy! It looks like the pig farm from Mad Max’s Thunderdome! All of the poop could probably power all of BarterTown! So please, horse people pick up your horses poop. It gets REALLY annoying for everyone else especially when us cyclists run the fresh stuff over. Thanks!
Ah yes, this will do just fine.

Tips for building a mountain bike
Several years ago I built my first serious mountain bike. I learned a lot about bikes during this project, and I learned from some mistakes. I thought I would share these tips with some of you. This is for Robert, aka DKo2RE on Twitter
First off, I would focus the majority of your budget to these items. In this order:
1. Frame
2. Wheels
3. Fork
4. Drive-terrain ( crankset, Brakes, cassette ect…)
5. Misc. (Grips, seat, seat-post, bars, stem ect…)
If you are on an limmited budget, then I would recommend some of these resources:
1. ChainLove (this site has some kickass sales).
2. SteepandCheap (this site has killer deals as well!!!).
Also pay attention to the types of parts that you buy. Some parts may not be compatible with your frame. Make sure all of the sizes match up. For example: dont get a 1.5in stem for a 1 1/8 in fork. Just do your research and ask lots of questions. Your LBS (local bike shop) will be more than available to help. Your LBS is a great place to learn. I would also recommend MTBR. It’s a great site with a great community on the forums.
Misled by school counselor… :-/
Okay, so last week I went to the counseling office at my local college. I had a few questions about qualifying for an AA degree before I transfer. I needed to know what classes I needed to take to get an AA before I transfer to a University. The counseler told me something along the lines of: ” You would have to take a lot more classes to get an AA before you leave. If I were you, I would just get an AS General Ed degree.” I noticed during this whole meeting the guy didn’t even look at the school catalog that describes all of the qualifications. He barely looked at the classes that I already took. Either this guy knows the whole thing or he is not taking my questions very seriously. It was really frustrating for me because I felt as though this guy was misleading me and just didn’t care. This meeting was so shit that I went directly to the secretary after the meeting and made n appointment with another counselor. Two weeks later I just got out of my other appointment, and the new counselor has answered all of my questions. She was awesome! She really knows her work! It turns out that I DO qualify for an AA degree, but I can’t get one this semester because I missed the deadline by a week! Which isn’t a huge deal because I can just get it next semester. So I just wanted to say thank you to that moron of a counselor that I saw 2 weeks ago. Here is some advice for you: take your job seriously!
